Adaptive Test Components

As described in our article "Architectural Requirements for Adaptive Test" the following modules are required to build a robust adaptive test capability. Customers can integrate portions of our system into their test infrastructure and develop their own adaptive testing algorithms, or they can license our off-the-shelf solutions for test time reduction, outlier detection and yield recovery.

  1. Device Profile:  Salland has defined and successfully deployed the Device Profile - a file that contains the parameters to be followed by the test program. The Device Profile personalizes dynamic actions to the specific testers while they are running the device of interest.
  2. Real-time data acquisition:  SwifTest-AMX is our software-only Advanced Monitoring eXecutive at the heart of the SwiftTest family. It is used to capture test results and send them to TestScape. It can accept data in multiple formats and can be extended to process proprietary data formats.
  3. Local decision-making engine: SwifTest captures test data for our TestScape data management system and is the core of our adaptive test solutions. SwifTest is a robust, non-intrusive family of on-line software that runs on most popular testers without the need for additional hardware. Different SwifTest optional modules perform the adaptive test algorithms required as described below.
  4. Global decision-making system: TestScape is a modular, highly scalable, enterprise-wide, test data management system. TestScape is an easy-to-use, on-line, web-based system that supports complete yield analysis and real-time monitoring as well optional modules for OEE, SPC and other critical test process improvements. TestScape provides users with a web-based, common view of test data across different brands of testers, different product types and different test floors in near-real-time.
  5. Data Analysis and Optimization tools: Salland provides both the TestScape product described above and TestVision for optimizing test time and outlier screening and preparing the Device Profiles.

Off-the-Shelf Solutions

In addition to the products mentioned above, the following adaptive test products are available from Salland:

  • SwifTest-TTO is Salland's industry-leading test time optimization tool based upon patented adaptive test algorithms and proven in high volume production since 2004.
  • SwifTest-FOX is used for Fast Outlier eXtraction at both wafer sort and final test. It supports basic PAT, DPAT and other advanced outlier detection algorithms. TestVision or TestScape-Optimize enable the user to analyze large amounts of data and determine the optimum outlier detection plan which is released with the test program as a Device Profile.
  • SwifTest-DTI is the Dynamic Test Interface option for SwifTest that allows Product Engineers to customize adaptive test procedures than can improve quality and yield.
  • Test Cell Controllers monitor both the tester and the prober/handlers on-line. Test cell controllers are the most effective means for maximizing your data integrity and optimizing production throughput. Our cell controllers have specific adaptive test options, like bad bump avoidance, etc.
